Trademark Status 'Accepted & Advertised': When Will You Get the Certificate?

Short answer: "Accepted & Advertised" is good news — the Examiner found no issue (or your objection reply succeeded), and your mark is now published in the Trademark Journal, starting a 4-month window during which anyone can oppose it. If nobody does, the registration certificate is issued after that window closes.

What This Status Means

Your application has passed examination and been published in the official Trademark Journal — a public notice inviting anyone with a competing claim to object. This is the last major hurdle before registration.

The 4-Month Opposition Window

From the date of Journal publication, any third party has four months to file a formal opposition using Form TM-O. When Do You Get the Certificate?

If the 4-month window passes with no opposition filed, the Registrar issues the trademark Registration Certificate, and you gain the right to use the ® symbol. There's no separate application needed to trigger this — it happens automatically once the window closes clean.

What to Do While You Wait

Nothing is required from you during the opposition window unless someone actually files against your mark. It's worth periodically checking the IP India status page in case an opposition is filed, since the Counter Statement deadline is strict.
