Why Vadodara businesses choose us.
Manufacturers here are often selling into B2B and export markets where a registered trademark is a precondition for listing with larger buyers, distributors or on international marketplaces.
Vadodara's industrial base around Nandesari, Makarpura and the Padra–Jambusar belt is dominated by chemicals, pharmaceuticals and heavy engineering. The classes that matter here are Class 1 for industrial and agro chemicals, Class 5 for pharmaceutical preparations, Classes 7 and 9 for machinery, instruments and electrical equipment, Class 12 for the transport-equipment supply chain, and Class 42 for the engineering-design and testing firms that support the larger plants.
For B2B manufacturers the trademark is usually the company name or a product-range name rather than a consumer logo, and it does real work at the procurement stage — vendor registration with large buyers, empanelment on GeM and listing on export marketplaces frequently ask for proof of a registered or applied-for mark.
Exporters should note that an Indian registration is the usual starting point for protection abroad: it gives you a priority date you can carry into a Madrid Protocol application covering multiple countries within six months.
We work with engineering and process-industry manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and ancillary suppliers in and around Vadodara. The search, the filing paperwork and any Registry correspondence can all be coordinated over call, WhatsApp and courier, without you needing to travel to our Ahmedabad office.
How it works
Trademark Search
We run a search across the Trademark Registry's public database to check for identical or deceptively similar marks already filed or registered in your class, before you commit to a name or logo.
Class Selection & Online Trademark Filing
Your mark is filed as a Form TM-A application, entirely through online trademark filing on the IP India e-filing portal, under the correct Nice Classification class(es) — there are 45 classes in total, 34 for goods and 11 for services — for the goods or services you actually deal in.
Examination & Journal Publication
The Registry examines the application on absolute grounds (Section 9 — is it generic or merely descriptive) and relative grounds (Section 11 — does it conflict with an existing mark), and if accepted, publishes it in the Trademark Journal for a four-month opposition window.
Registration Certificate
If no opposition is filed within that window, the Registrar issues the trademark registration certificate and you gain the right to use the ® symbol.

Trademark Registration ↗Frequently asked questions
Many procurement and vendor-onboarding processes ask for a trademark registration certificate or at least a filed application number as part of brand-ownership proof. Even where it is not strictly mandatory, a pending or granted mark removes a common objection during vendor due diligence.
Registering in India first is normally the right sequence. The Indian filing date becomes a priority date you can claim in a Madrid Protocol application filed within six months, letting you extend protection to multiple export markets through a single application rather than separate national filings.
Class 1 covers chemicals used in industry, science and agriculture, including fertilisers. Pesticides, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides are in Class 5, alongside pharmaceutical preparations. An agro-chemical maker selling both fertilisers and crop-protection products under one brand usually needs both classes.
Yes, and the bar is higher for medicines than for most goods. In Cadila Health Care v. Cadila Pharmaceuticals (2001), the Supreme Court held that confusion between drug names can harm patients, so a stricter test of similarity applies to medicinal products. A name built only from the molecule or the condition it treats is also likely to draw a Section 9 objection as descriptive. Search Class 5 before the carton artwork is printed.
Usually, yes. Rule 2(1)(v) of the Trade Marks Rules, 2017 treats an enterprise as a small enterprise if its investment does not exceed the limit for a medium enterprise under the MSMED Act, 2006, so on the wording of the rule a micro, small or medium enterprise pays ₹4,500 per class online instead of ₹9,000. Practice is not uniform for certificates marked Medium, so confirm the category before claiming it. The certificate supports the fee category you claim on Form TM-A, so complete your Udyam registration before you file.
Under the First Schedule of the Trade Marks Rules, 2017, the official e-filing fee is ₹4,500 per class for an individual, a DPIIT-recognised startup or a small enterprise, and ₹9,000 per class for any other applicant. Rule 2(1)(v) defines a small enterprise by the investment limit for a medium enterprise under the MSMED Act, 2006, so a company, LLP or firm can qualify on the strength of its Udyam certificate. Filing on paper costs ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 per class respectively. This is a per-class fee — three classes means three times the fee.
A trademark registration is valid for 10 years from the date of filing, and can be renewed indefinitely in further 10-year terms by filing Form TM-R.
A trademark registered with IP India is protected across the whole of India the moment it's granted — there's no separate state-level registration. Being Gujarat-based only affects which Registry office typically handles your filing (Ahmedabad falls under the Trademark Registry's jurisdiction), not the geographic scope of protection.
